THE EIGHT METER CLASS...
... QUINTESSENTIALLY WHAT ANY CHILD MIGHT IMAGINE WHEN ASKED TO DRAW A SAILBOAT.
Short film about the Sailboat Glana at the 8 Metre Class World Cup.
The boat GLANA was built 1946 by the danish architect Knud Reimers and holds the record for the most wins (8) of the bold d’or, the largest inland lake regatta in the world, attracting sailors from around the globe to compete in a challenging 123-kilometer (approximately 66.5 nautical miles) course.
Manned by a six person crew, those boats are the embodiment of classic sailing and speed on the water.
Shot on Lake Geneva with a custom boat to boat stabilising rig, we filmed during live racing that could not be interfered with.
